With a firm belief that every person and community should have access to the best possible care, Getinge provides hospitals and life science institutions with products and solutions aiming to improve clinical results and optimize workflows. The offering includes products and solutions for intensive care, cardiovascular procedures, operating rooms, sterile reprocessing and life science. Getinge employs over 12,000 people worldwide and the products are sold in more than 135 countries.

Are you ready to lead a highly skilled automation team in a cutting-edge technical environment, delivering customized solutions for the life science industry? Then this could be your next career move.

Your Mission

As Automation Design Manager at Getinge, you’ll take on a key leadership role within our engineering organization. You'll be responsible for a diverse and growing team of  specialists, working across a wide range of technologies including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, SCADA systems, and proprietary solutions. Our focus is on tailored automation for sterilization systems used in regulated, high-tech environments – from biotech labs to pharmaceutical manufacturing.

You’ll be the one bringing people and structure together – helping the team grow, thrive, and deliver smart, digitalized automation solutions. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, working closely with cross-functional teams, international customers, and internal stakeholders from project start to final validation.

Your Profile

We’re looking for a leader with a strong technical foundation and a genuine passion for developing people. You may not be a technical specialist, but you understand automation well and know how to guide and support experts. You’ve likely worked in a regulated industry such as food, pharmaceutical, or process engineering, and you’re comfortable navigating matrix organizations and agile ways of working.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven leadership experience (team lead, project lead or managerial role)

  • Good understanding of industrial automation, including SCADA and PLC systems

  • Experience from a regulated industry (e.g., Life Science, food production, etc.)

  • Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English

  • A collaborative and adaptive mindset – you’re as comfortable with long-term planning as with quick, on-the-fly problem solving

We place a strong emphasis on personality – if you're the right fit for the team, we're open to different backgrounds and experience levels. Being new to a formal leadership role is fine if you bring the right energy, attitude, and curiosity.
