We are seeking a motivated Group Director of Information Systems

Are you an engaged and experienced leader with a passion for driving operational excellence? We are seeking a motivated global Director of Information Systems to join our dynamic team. In this role you will lead the IT operations in Axess Group and support our growth and development in line with Axess Group’s ambitious goals. You will be leading a team of IT professionals and working closely with key stakeholders to reach our strategic goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with solid and proven leadership skills, technical expertise and excellent communication abilities. 

Axess Group has proven a solid growth over decades and expect to double the turnover of the company over the next five years. It is vital for the Group to develop and implement an IT strategy, architecture and business support that can support this growth, on a global scale. We are therefore searching for a leader of Information Systems who is a visionary and trusted advisor for top management, to ensure we are making the right choices going forward. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Define and drive the overall IT strategy, ensuring awareness of the business value that the IT function provides, and continuously seek alignment with Axess Group’s goals and global growth ambitions. This also includes monitoring emerging technology trends and building a technology radar to support strategic decision-making. 
• Overall responsible for the IT operations in Axess Group. Continuously evaluate our IT operations, technology, capabilities, set up, as well as sourcing strategy and partnerships, and ensure development aligned with Axess Group’s strategy.  
• Further develop a strong and diverse IT team. Inspire, lead and mentor our IT professionals located across our locations, support their career progressions and help reach their potential. 
• Overall responsible to ensure the compliance, security and integrity of the company's data and IT systems. 
• Work in close partnership with peers to identify and reach common approaches, solutions and shared platforms, e.g. Executive Management, Group and Regional Management, Digital Transformation Team, Operational Excellence Team, process owners etc. 

Qualifications and Expertise: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field 
• 5-10+ years of relevant experience from leadership roles within IT, preferably in an international environment 
• Operational expertise and commercial mindset 
• Broad understanding of technology and its business value 
• Experience in managing systems, processes, and governance frameworks. 
• Structured approach to problem-solving with the ability to balance strategic vision and attention to detail. 
• Flexibility to work across different time zones and willingness to travel to Axess’ worksites and offices worldwide

The position will preferably be located at our offices in Molde, Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger, Aberdeen, or Cape Town. We are also open to candidates based at one of our larger international or Norwegian offices. The working language is English.
